Chapter 9 Ignition Systems Chapter 9—Ignition Systems 9-7 primary intermittent ignition (the spark is on whenever the motor is on). For interrupted ignition, you need a primary control built for this purpose. Attach one wire from the transformer or ignitor to the neutral wire and the other wire to the ignition wire or terminal on the primary control. See Figure 9-5 for wiring a primary control interrupted ignition (the spark shuts off once flame is established).
